Congratulations on your new property! We hope that you’ve had a nice and trouble-free house relocation. It is now time to enjoy your new home and have the best time in it with the ones you love. However, before getting too comfortable, there are certain things that you should do right after you move in. 1) Change the locks

The first thing you should think of is safety. You need to change all of the locks in your new home so that you know you are the only one that has access to the place.

2) Don’t procrastinate with your unpacking

The man and van have just dropped off all of your boxes at your new home and you need to start unpacking. We know that it can be a rather boring thing to do. Keep in mind that there is no point in procrastinating as this has to be done sooner or later. You better start now so that you finish faster. You can invite your family members or friends to help you with the unpacking.

3) Give your new house a deep clean

You can do the cleaning prior to unloading the removal van when there are not so many items around the house. This way you can clean all of the floors, walls, windows, carpets, counters, etc. very easily. You will have access to every corner in the rooms. 4) Inspect your belongings

Your home inspector has probably already done that before closing the deal but you can still double-check so that you are sure there are no leaks in your new home.

6) Check out the neighbourhood

Once you’ve settled in your new home, it is time to introduce yourself to the neighbours. You can throw a garden party and invite them over. It is always nice to get along with the people who live next door. This way you can help each other with everything.

Also, take a walk around your neighbourhood so that you find local stores that you can shop from. Look for parks, schools, libraries, restaurants, etc. Hopefully, you will find plenty of them and will be very happy in your new house.
